I approach interiors the way a stylist approaches fashion—

Review on Google Business
Shalika has been a pleasure to work with. I had very definite ideas of what I needed to fit into a very challenging space As we merged our guest room and office. She not only was incredibly patient in all of my requests But also managed to make the room look beautiful while being functional.

WHY CLIENTS CHOOSE ME
I don’t believe in perfect spaces.
I’m drawn to pieces with history, texture, and a sense of life lived—
and I bring that same perspective into every room I style.
Clients choose me when they want a space that feels layered,
a little unexpected, and deeply personal.
Interiors shaped by instinct, memory, and pieces that carry a sense of life lived.
Hi, I’m Shalika—interior stylist and founder of Heart & Home Hoboken.
My decade+ background is in fashion design with European brands, is where I learned to work with texture, proportion, and balance—how to make something feel intentional rather than assembled. I focus on what gives a room presence—contrast, texture, and pieces that feel like they’ve lived a life. The result is a home that feels layered, not designed.
HOW WE WORK
01 — The Edit
We begin with a focused consultation to understand your space, what’s working, and what needs to shift.
This is where we define direction—what stays, what goes, and what’s missing.
02 — Direction
I develop a clear visual point of view for your space—grounded in layout, materiality, and overall composition.
This becomes the foundation for everything that follows.
03 — Sourcing
Pieces are carefully selected to bring depth and balance into the room.
Rather than overwhelming you with options, I present a refined edit—items chosen for their texture, contrast, and ability to work together.
04 — Styling
The final layer.
Through placement, proportion, and detail, everything comes together into a space that feels cohesive, lived in, and complete.
05 — Final Touches
We refine and adjust until the space feels right—subtle shifts that elevate the overall atmosphere.
